Transcription
We offer a full transcription service covering a wide variety of formats, documents and subject matter.
We operate a file upload facility called Virtual Briefcase on our website that allows easy management of files. Each client registered with us will be given a unique login and username password. This will allow them access to their personalised account from where they can upload and collect their files. Email alerts are in operation to notify the client of successful upload and of any completed files waiting for download. This system allows for safe, secure transportation of files and dramatically reduces the time taken dealing with the transfer of large files through email.
All transactions made through the Virtual Briefcase are encrypted using our secure certificate.
For an overview of the process that your project will take, please refer to the transcription process.
Our experience covers a range of different types of documents and subject matters. These include:
- lectures for students with sensory impairments
- research interviews
- medical research
- dictation
- conferences
- forums
- speeches
- discussion groups
- reports
- correspondence
- meetings
- focus groups
- manuscripts
- teleconferences
A designated Project Manager would discuss the requirements of the client to cover such areas as establishing a transcript code which defines how the transcript will be carried out. This includes such things as whether the transcript will be verbatim, or intelligent verbatim (omitting all ums, aghs etc), whether pauses should be signified, how to highlight inaudible or unclear areas, whether speakers should be identified, time codes, and any other requirements.
For a greater discussion or tips on successful recordings and transcriptions, please refer to our FAQ page.
Word Processing
This service covers letters, memos, reports, manuals, specifications and much more. It is useful for any client wishing to use handwritten or hard copy notes which would benefit from being typed in a professional manner. They can be provided in any format required by the client.
Database and Spreadsheet Design/Management
After understanding the requirements of the client, we are able to design, layout and setup a spreadsheet or database which can include regular entries, print outs and updates.
Bulk Mailshots
We undertake mailshots of any volume and are happy to take the process from start to finish (i.e. letters, labels and envelopes), or any singular stage the client may desire. The full process would involve individually addressed letters, printed labels and stuffed envelopes. The mailshot can posted directly from our offices or sent back to the client for personal postage, depending upon requirements.
This service also extends to any fax mailshots or email mailshots. Please note, this service is not available for any spam emails.
Proofreading
This is a vital element for many documents produced by our clients. If accuracy, clarity and structure are critical, then proofreading is an essential process. It can ensure correct spelling, punctuation and grammar. Manual proofreading, although a time consuming task, far exceeds the basic computerised spell check. It can guarantee such things as the correct tense, the general English usage, the correct words have been used in the correct place, as well as highlighting areas where an incorrect word has been used (i.e. there or their).
Proofreading can provide opportunity for the reorganisation of text to improve clarity and the flow of the words and the service can extend to the word count being reduced if required.
Depending upon the requirements of the client, corrections can be made on disk, hard copy or both. All inconsistencies would be highlighted, corrections made and additional suggestions made for improvement.
Editorial Services
We offer editing services for all types of documents, spanning novels (fiction and non-fiction), magazine articles, technical manuals, journals and short stories.
